October Quest - Roger Williams Park

Saturday, October 14, 2017
1:00pm - Meet at the Dalrymple Boathouse - Intersection of Maple and Cladrash's Avenues, Providence, RI 02907

The Roger Williams Park recently underwent a trail improvement and marking project that greatly enhanced the park. We never knew there were so many amazing woodland trails – five to be exact! And now they’re even better. Join us for an urban hike about 2 miles long.

Also for this hike, an exciting opportunity!
You can earn 5,000 points at this hike through the Zoo’s Nature Swap. Participants in the program bring in natural “found” items to collect points for swapping with items in their collection. Find out more information here.

Nature Play Grant:

For the fourth year in a row, the Roger Williams Park Zoo was one of the recipients of a Nature Play grant, which was developed by the Children & Nature Network (C&NN) and the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) through a special gift from the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. This grant allows us to offer free nature based play experiences in various parks, playgrounds, preserves, and other properties that are off zoo grounds–but easy to get to! If transportation support is needed, please contact Samantha Polon at (401) 785-3510 x353 for information about FREE RIPTA bus passes.

Each FNPD is also a Nature Swap “Quest” and allows participants to earn 5,000 bonus points in their accounts. Participants in the program bring in natural “found” items to collect points for swapping with items in their collection. To earn 5,000 points for this quest, bring a photo, drawing or natural item from your hike into the Nature Swap, located in Roger Williams Park Zoo’s Hasbro’s our Big Backyard, which is open 10-2, Friday to Monday.
