September Nature Swap Quest: Providence Birding Adventure!

Saturday, September 21, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Join Rhode Island Audubon’s Lisa Maloney for a free GUIDED BIRD WALK & Bird Banding Demonstration in Roger Williams Park on Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. This event is FREE. The group will gather in the Botanical Center parking lot located on the corner of Cladrastis Avenue and Floral Avenue in the park.  Binoculars and field guides will be available.  Dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes. To earn 5,000 points, bring a photo, drawing or journal page about your experience into the Nature Swap, located in Hasbro's Our Big Backyard at Roger Williams Park Zoo. We are open 10-1, Wednesday to Sunday.

Thanks to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s Urban Bird Treaty Program, and a partnership between the Providence Parks Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, these free, monthly bird walks will be held at various locations around Providence for the next two years.  To learn more about the Urban Bird Treaty Program, and about other participating cities, visit
